I'm doing well, and it was a good week.
We had Mission Leadership Council on Tuesday, and I really enjoyed it.
This one was unique since almost all of the meeting was presentations by
the zone leaders and sister training leaders instead of the Ivorys.
They just shared some closing thoughts at the end. Instead of bringing
up a lot of new things, we had a better and more in depth discussion of
the already existing focuses in the mission.
Then
on Wednesday I had an exchange with Elder S (one of my MTC and previous companions) here in Galati! He
came in from Bacau, where he is branch president. It was a really good
exchange, even though we spent a lot of time wandering around in the
wind and snow looking for an address of a less active member. The west
side of the city is really hard to navigate in Galati, since it is just a
giant maze of identical blocs. But we both really enjoyed the exchange.
And
on Friday, I went on another exchange with Elder S (from my district). He is such a
brilliant new missionary. He is already perfectly comfortable in
Romanian, teaching lessons, making phone calls, and he is a pro at being
the branch clerk here. We had a great day, visiting two less active
members and having a lesson with his investigator.
Also,
we had our first week of home teaching, and it is going well. Our assigned companion, is a new member of a few months, but we prepared
a message together with him and visited a great family. This companion is
learning very well, and is going to be an awesome teacher. He has the
best attitude about everything, and is always ready to help out with
anything.
So it was a good week, and now the weather has warmed up quite a bit. The snow is melting and there is water everywhere.
This coming week will be busy, since Elder F and I set a goal
to have a lesson every day, and we are also doing two exchanges in
Constanta this week, staying Wednesday and Thursday so that we can work
with all four elders. It is going to be a lot of fun. And next week, I
should have the transfer news.
For Sunday
school this week, Elder D L and S did an introductory lesson
about the new testament, but I missed a lot of it since I was helping
President S with Tithing settlement. We got a little behind. But
then for priesthood I taught the first lesson from the Ezra Taft Benson
manual. I had to print out the lesson since we haven't received our new
manuals yet in Galati. I hope they get here soon.
Thanks for reading!
Elder Lybbert
