I made it to the big city! And I
actually like it a lot more than I thought I would. The business is
actually exciting, and there are always new things to see. Riding the
metro is still fun for me.
Also, the branch is a
lot to adjust to. We meet in a chapel with actual pews, I'm not in
charge of anything, and it takes four people to pass the sacrament! We
had 77 people there on Sunday! It felt like a different world.
Another
big perk is that we live two minutes away from the church. It's really
nice, especially in a city where travel can take so long. Rushhour gets
pretty intense.
Elder C is super cool. He
is very talented with the guitar, and he is using it in his missionary
work in very cool ways. I hope to follow his example and use my talents
and personality the way he does. We have a new friend that he plays
guitar with, and teaches guitar to as well, and after developing a
sincere friendship we are also talking with him about having God in his
life and about the gospel of Jesus Christ. The transition is not
robotic. Learning how to be so real and personal with people will change
my mission.
We are also helping a 7-year old
in a member family here prepare for his baptism next week. His father
asked us to do the missionary lessons with him, and it is so fun. He has a lot of energy, and making friends with him and his older sister
has been one of my favourite parts of Bucuresti so far.
We
are putting a lot of energy into making English classes really big this
transfer. We are putting up tons of posters, and the office is running a
Facebook ad and page for the classes. The ad aready has over 9000
views, from what I heard on Sunday. This is going to be exciting. We are
also planning a concert for this Friday after the Zone training meeting
we are having, to gather more attention and recognition. We are so
busy, and hardly have time to eat, but it is so fun.
Thanks for reading!
Elder Lybbert
