This was a pretty good week. We were able to meet with a bunch of cool people, and that is what makes a mission awesome.
We
had member lessons with the Branch President and another member.
They are both doing great, and really appreciated hearing a message from
us. Home teaching doesn't actually function at all in this little
branch, so it is a really good thing that we have the chance to support
and strengthen them.
We also had a really cool
experience out in Alba Iulia. We got a call from a guy who
wanted to meet with us, so on Wednesday we hopped on the Maxi-taxi and
visited him. He is legit! He works and lives in Spain now, and is just
back in Romania for a couple of months. He has been meeting with the
missionaries in Spain for 8 months, and knows everything and wants to be
baptized! The only problem, his wife is against it. We are praying for
them since he has so much potential and has a testimony of the
restoration. He said he will come into Sibiu for church next week, and I
am stoked to meet him again. He is a super nice guy. He even fed us
some type of Spanish cake he made. One of the coolest and nicest people I
have ever met.
We also have a new investigator,
one who has been to church three times already! He is super
nice, a real people person. He has a family, one son (8 or 9 years old I
would say), and has liked everything he has seen about the church so
far. He promised to read the Book of Mormon, and he is a great guy. He
also gave each of us a gift, a tradition he has for anyone who visits
his home.
I now have a wooden knife from Romania! Decorative purposes only, but I still think it's cool.
We also had a cool church walk-in
on Sunday! He is from Medias, so another out of town guy, but he is
really cool, has an very thick Transylvanian accent (hard to understand)
and knows the Bible really well. We had a lesson with him, and it went
well. He had some hard questions at first, stuff like why we use water
for the sacrament instead of wine, and so forth, but the lesson got more
spiritual towards the end and he softened up. It will be hard since he
isn't from Sibiu, but I hope we can meet him again.
So we had a cool week. I love
Sibiu. There are amazing people here, and I really want to help them.
Thank you so much for reading and supporting me!
