Hi Everyone!
The
transfer board is out, and I'll be with Elder C for another six
weeks! Yay! I wasn't prepared to hear any other result. These six weeks
went so fast that it would have felt like an emergency transfer. And we
are both so focused. We won't have any interruption now.
Coming to Sibiu to replace Elder D as district
leader, will be Elder C from my MTC group! It's going to be great! I
can't wait to see him again. And Sora R will be getting Sora
O as a new companion, and they will be sister training leaders!
There are STL's in every zone now.
Our atheist investigator is doing well. While on
exchange with Elder Ch, we had a great lesson with him, one of
my top 5 favourites in my mission so far. Elder Ch's testimony
was so sincere that the spirit entered the room like a wave, and our investigator
is really studying hard. He had a spiritual experience when he prayed
that puzzled him, and even though he still claims to be atheist, he
can't get the experience out of his mind. He was out of town on the
weekend and we haven't seen him since the lesson, but when we talked to
him on the phone it sounded like he had been doing some serious
pondering.
We also went to Cluj for a baptismal interview on
Thursday! They finally had a baptism! The branch needed it so much. This new convert is a really cool guy. He didn't have a baptismal date until last
week. He had a great experience at church, felt really welcome in the
branch, then called the elders that afternoon saying that he wanted to
be baptized. One week later, he did it!
Sibiu is struggling a little more. The branch president
and his fiancee were out of town with family (Like all of Romania), and
Elder C presided over and conducted sacrament meeting. In fact, us
missionaries did everything this week. It was just us 6 missionaries and
6 old men: three of them members and three investigators. But it was
good. An Englishman, who now lives in the mountains about an hour
and a half away, came and really added a lot to the meeting. He can only
come once a month due to the distance, but he is a fantastic,
experienced member. He is learning Romanian really well too, and bore
his testimony in Romanian.
It's been a little discouraging, since I feel like last
month I worked the hardest I ever have and the results are meager, but I
need faith. I feel I have been pushed to my limits, and though the Lord
is supporting me enough to not go past my limits, He is just holding me
there for now.
Thanks for reading!
Elder Lybbert
