Hi Everyone!
So,
this has been a weird week. On Wednesday, we got a call from the
assistants, and Elder N had to pack his bags and go to Alexandria,
with only a few hours notice. And we had a lesson to go to in those
hours, so we really didn't have much time. So that really ruined my
week. I wasn't ready for Elder N to go yet!
Elder
N went to Alexandria to replace an elder who went home for health
reasons, but that left me companionless. And since I won't be getting a
replacement until Wednesday, I am just hanging around the office. I
don't really like it. But, it's almost over. I don't think I could ever
handle actually being an office elder. It might be better if I felt like
I actually belonged. Now I just have to be with the office elders or
the AP's all the time, and even though I have my own bed over in my own
apartment, I sleep on the couch.
The good news: on
Wednesday, I will be getting Elder B! I have heard only good
things about him, and he is just coming out of being the branch
president in Sibiu. I love Sibiu! Turns out that they had branch
conference yesterday. And they had 38 people come!! I just can't wait to
ask Elder B how they did it.
We also had a baptism
over in the Mihai Bravu branch this week. I did the interview and he was baptized on Saturday. They haven't had a baptism in
Mihai Bravu for a while, so it was pretty significant. Elder A and Elder C are really going hard. In fact, there is some amazing
energy in all of Bucuresti right now. There are lots of little miracles
happening in every companionship. Except maybe for me, since all of our
potential new investigators have dropped off, and I haven't really been
able to find any new people this week, but once Elder B gets here
we will go hard. President Ivory is launching an 84 day challenge for
the mission this transfer that will help us be on the ball and at our
best, and though I only get to do half of it, I think it is just what I
need.
I am really excited for this weekend too. We have the
Meet the Mormons Premiere, and District Conference too. And President
Ivory has said that this conference will be significant. I am so
excited. Big things are coming in Romania. We have been inviting all the
members to bring their friends, and they are getting in on the
excitement too. And, we had 80 people in church on Sunday, so Panduri is
in a good place right now. And since they also had 78 over in Mihai
Bravu, this is the biggest church attendance I have ever seen in Buc.
Thanks for reading!
(Also,
before Elder N left, we found a really
cool park. It felt like something out of a video game, with the giant
monument and the straight road leading up to it. We also saw a turtle
there!)
Until next week,
Elder Lybbert
