It has been a good week. Interviews with President Ivory, two exchanges, and two baptisms in the branch!
I
did an exchange with Elder B over in Mihai Bravu, and it was
great. I attended the Mihai Bravu district meeting, and they are doing
so well. They are a purposeful district. We also visited a cool member
from their branch and did some contacting in Herestrau park.
And
right after that exchange, I started one with Elder A (Assistant
to the President). It was great. In the morning we had a powerful lesson
with a less active member. He feels that his faith has
weakened, and he has lots of questions and doubts. At the start, he kept
talking about his doubts and how he hadn't received an answer from God
yet, but I got the chance to testify of the Holy Ghost and my personal
experience with power beyond my own, and by the end, he humbled himself
and said that he knew what he needed to do: to read the scriptures 15
minutes a day and to keep praying. The whole thing took less than 30
minutes, but it was one of the best less active lessons I have ever
have.
Other members are progressing as well.
One is coming to church more often than ever, and the member from Cameroon
came this week! We have Sunday school and Priesthood classes in English
now, so that helps.
There were also two
baptisms this weekend, and they were both incredible. M has been
fighting to stop smoking for months, but he finally succeeded and was
baptised on his birthday on Friday. He is a future leader for the church
here.
On Saturday, S was baptized, and it
was another powerful service. This branch is doing so well. We have had
over 80 in attendance every week since District Conference at the end
of May. There are many new callings being extended, and there is great
energy here. It makes me happy.
I really am enjoying my time here.
Thanks for reading!
Elder Lybbert
