It's been a busy week. We had our
exchange with Craiova, zone training meeting, and our second Meet the
Mormons event. And today we had a zone P-day, a barbecue to celebrate
Canada day! (Though everyone else was deceived into thinking we had
planned it for the 4th of July. Including Elder B.) We just
played sports at the field at the Mihai Bravu chapel, had lots of meat
and watermelon, then did some improv led by Elder Br. It was a
good summer day.
I learned a lot this week,
mostly by presenting in our zone training meeting. We got to organize
the whole thing too. The assistants got to take a break and they didn't
do a single thing. I finally have learned how to overcome
discouragement. I cannot be needy for visible success or even perfection
on my part to justify my worth as a missionary. Instead of fearing
failure, I must desire to serve and act out of love. This week will be
so good.
The Meet the Mormons showings (first
in English, then Romanian) on Saturday didn't have a huge turnout, but
it was alright. And several people were touched, so it had a quality
outcome. In fact, N provided the sound system for us, then came
with his wife to church on Sunday! It is so incredible that he is
progressing. He has been less active for quite a while, and I really
want to help him keep re-finding his faith.
I am happy and doing well. I really do love Romania, and the missionary lifestyle.
Have a great day!
Elder Lybbert
