Today, Dec 1, is the 96th anniversary of
the uniting of the Romanian countries in 1918. Before that,
Transilvania, Tara Romaneasca, and Moldova (the Romanian region Moldova,
not the country next to it) were all separate, though they spoke the
same language. We caught a bit of the parade this morning, from the top
of the city wall, so the view was perfect, but the wind ridiculously
cold. My face was numb before long, but it was cool.
And
our thanksgiving activity turned out amazing! We had 30 people!!! And
we had enough food too! We only had two 4 kilo turkeys, and we thought
that we wouldn't have enough, but we had a loaves and fishes experience,
and it all worked out perfectly, with leftovers and everything. And we
had plenty of other food that everyone else had brought. It was really
fun. 17 nonmembers (not including kids) were there, and two less active
members as well.
And Elder D and I had
three investigators at church on Sunday, all of which have the same name.
It's a little confusing. There is the one we have been working with
since the summer. Then the landlord of a less active member, and they both came to church yesterday. And another is our new
investigator from a couple weeks ago, and he is progressing slowly. He
has a lot of questions and understands very very slowly, but he is
sincere.
It's been going great. November was a
very good month, and I have been teaching more lessons than ever. Sibiu
is a good place right now.
