Bună Ziua tuturor!
It
happened. The 4 boys I mentioned previously were baptized on
Sunday! They were the sisters investigators, but after this week I
really feel a connection to them. They are such awesome boys! And all so
different too! Even if they weren't our investigators, we have helped
and I have visited them a total of five times now, so we are good
friends.
It made for a crazy busy week though. We had zone conference
on Wednesday, and we went down to Bucuresti Tuesday night. Elder B
and I stayed with my cousin Elder Lybbert and Elder R. It was great
to get a chance to talk with my cousin again, since he is going home
next week. I'm kind of disappointed that I never had the chance to serve
anywhere close to him, but that is how it is. The zone conference was
great, but sad at the same time, since President and Sora Hill are
leaving! That might have been my last chance to see them. We really will
miss them. President Hill is an incredible man.
Then, on Thursday, we visited the boys and taught the law of
chastity (at a 9-13 year old level). The sisters thought it would be
better coming from us. It went well, though it was tricky to figure out
how to do the lesson properly. Our incredible branch mission
leader came with us and really helped us out a ton.
Then on Friday, we went back out to the town they live in, 10 minutes out of the city, to do the baptismal interviews.
As the interviews had gone late, we had to go back again the next day to finish the paperwork.
The ceremony on Sunday went wonderfully. We got permission to
do the confirmations immediately after the baptisms, since they are
unable to come next Sunday, so everything is done now. It was just a
great day.
Not only that, but we had a former investigator come to the
baptism as well! We had met him on the street, and were really confused
as to who he was, as the name he had given us did not exist in the area
book. But we have found him now, and he has a pretty good record. He has
had a baptismal date twice in the past. We should have an interesting time working with him.
So it has been an amazing week in Brasov! Things are looking good,
and I am feeling up. I know I can always trust in the Lord. He
always pulls through. You can put your trust in him. Never forget that. He understands so much more than we can comprehend.
Elder Lybbert
