It's been a fun week, and things are
starting to look up a bit. We had 20 people at church on Sunday! That's
the second biggest I've ever seen it in Sibiu, and after hitting a real
low last week it felt good. We felt tight as a branch, the Spirit was
there and we had a really fun and productive lesson on missionary work
after sacrament meeting. All of the mostly active members showed up at
the same time, a few investigators made it, and two excommunicated
members were there. We are going to make sure to call everyone that came
and commit them to come again next week for general conference.
We
kept busy this week talking to people on the street, making new
friends, meeting with the members, and putting up posters for English
classes in schools, universities, and libraries. We advertised in 11
places, and with university starting up again this week, our posters
should get a lot of views.
Also, S and
A are getting married this week! It's so exciting, and we are
going to have a special activity at the church on Saturday the day after
they get married. President Ivory should be coming, and all of the
family that came for the wedding should be there too! It's going to be a
good week.
We also made a new friend this week
who is a Romanian but studies Chinese and is super cool! He invited us to an exhibition
of batic, a type of Chinese art, at the university, and we met all the
people from the Chinese institute there. They were taking a bunch of
group pictures in traditional Chinese costumes, and we got pulled into
being in the group, so we are randomly in all their pictures too! But we
have some new chinese friends, and M demonstrated some Chinese
calligraphy to us. He is the first student in Romania to learn how to do
it, so it is a pretty big deal. I love meeting new people.
And,
today for P-day, we went to Cisnadioara, where there is a really cool
fortified church. Our whole district plus E had a great time there
and got some great pictures. I'll send the ones I got, and in time I
should get even more from the rest of the district.

Thanks
so much for reading and supporting me! I am learning a lot of patience
and how to rely on the Lord, but I realized this week just how much I
love being a missionary! It just feels so good being so close to the
gospel all the time and having countless ways to serve the Lord every
day!
| Also, we cooked Stuffed Peppers this week. We are still trying to perfect the recipe, but all the old ladies in the grocery store are very willing to give us advice. |
Until next week,
Elder Lybbert
